Firewood, family and siding
Cousins Karen and Merrie Sue and helpers Jan and Pete came today with two chain saws and made short work of half the slash (leftovers from milling the lumber) pile. They said they enjoyed being in the mountain air and getting a workout doing something productive. We lunched at the Huckleberry Inn in Govy.
After eating, I went back to Hank’s Ranch to await Stewart who had been scurrying around picking up needed building materials, particularly siding paper.
Meanwhile, Johnny, newly back from Mexico, was put to work digging a trench for the electrical conduit for the pump. In the picture he said he was putting on his sad face, having been surfing in 75 degree water and 85 degree temperatures a few short weeks previous.
Jeremy and Jimmy were busy starting the papering, siding and calking on the main house.
As Jimmy trimmed out a window Dan said that he has never worked with such great spruce trim. Even if it wasn’t a whole lot less expensive than “store bought”…it was just better to work with and he hoped we had enough to do the whole job…how could he go back to the average material?
I stopped by the Whistle Stop and shared an adult beverage with Burt, Tom and Craig. Always good to see them.
With all that fresh air and sunshine (who would have thought this possible on December 3rd on the mountain),
